Wouldn't it be cool if someone used this style of rendering a character for animation instead of the weird 'Rodger Rabbit' or conventional shadows and highlights? I would love to see this move.

I'm a bit neutral about this artist's character work, but I think the backgrounds are fabulous. I especially like the various trees. I would imagine that many backgrounds were influenced by Sleeping Beauty, which was in theaters a couple of years before this book.
